Rates

In Southern California, the current rate for quality, private, music lessons is $50-60 for 45 minutes to an hour. These rates fluctuate a little based on the teacher's experience, ability and overhead. I'm pleased to keep my rate at just $45/hour, even though I've written a book on improvising and have about 10 years of music teaching experience.

I recommend that all of my students have their own instrument. If you don't have one, I will recommend a local guitar store where you can purchase one at a discounted rate or I can rent you one. Please bring an empty folder for songs, licks sheets, handouts, etc. and an 8 1/2" x 11" notepad for me to write what I teach you. You can always refer to this notepad to review what you were (or what your child was) taught.
